Well, in Chile people aren't really worried about friendly practices. There aren't a lot of campaigns on TV or newspapers about the importance of our environment.  I think that a lot is being done in schools, but it's too early to see the impact. I do a lot of recycling. For example, I take my photocopies to a paper collecting basket at  work and I make ecobricks with empty plastic bottles and supermarket bags. I use my legs a lot since I don't own a car. Unfortunately my bike broke down some weeks ago  and I haven't had the time to fix it. But I usually ride to school on my bicycle. It's very convenient.
Regarding eco-organisations, I don't have much time to spend on activism and meetings. I've had some bad experiences with organisations that don't respect my beliefs. I'm a vegetarian, but some people believe it's not enough and tell me to become vegan or frutarian. But that's stupid. I have also talked to some friends and convinced them to take better care of their resources at home, so they don't waste electricity or water.
In the future, I'd like to visit the Amazon River and learn how people live in harmony with Nature. I'd also like to have a nice garden where I can grow my own tomatoes, onions and herbs. That would be awesome!
I think that in Santiago there is little or no conscience about environmental issues. I've found only a few groups that are worried about environmental issues. Most people have very bad attitudes towards recycling and saving the city from pollution. I would promote a prolonged campaign on TV, radio and newspapers and intervene public and private education so that young people become aware of the big problems we face.
